Rainy Days in Connemara

Kylemore Abbey (Indoor)
A highlight even on rainy days. Explore the beautifully restored state rooms of the abbey and visit the neo-Gothic church. The café is an excellent spot for a delicious hot chocolate.
Connemara Heritage & History Center
(Dan O’Hara’s Homestead)
A fascinating museum about the history and the often harsh life in Connemara. While parts are outdoors, there are extensive indoor exhibitions and video presentations.
Station House Museum (Clifden)
A charming small museum located in the old railway station building. Learn about Marconi’s first transatlantic wireless station and the pioneering aviators Alcock & Brown.
Cosy Pub Tour
Pick up a book at Clifden Bookshop and settle in by the turf fire at Lowry’s Bar for a truly authentic Irish atmosphere.
